Strengthening a Community Business Ecosystem

For generations, a dynamic Chicago neighborhood with a Mexican immigrant majority has embodied resilience, ingenuity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit rooted in family, culture, and community advancement. To fully realize this potential, the community required entrepreneurial tools and resources that reflected its cultural strengths and bilingual realities.

At the same time, the community has faced unprecedented challenges including the economic impacts of COVID-19, vaccine access barriers, access to capital, and the broader social and immigration movements that reshaped local business conditions. Many budding entrepreneurs and small businesses, experienced significant disruption, threatening long-standing pathways to economic mobility and community wealth.

In response, the neighborhood’s first business community foundation was established to strengthen and accelerate business growth by expanding entrepreneurial opportunities and advancing the community’s economic wellbeing. Since 2018, AGG Consulting has partnered with the organization to deliver strategic advisory services that advance growth, strengthen institutional capacity, and drive long-term community economic prosperity.
