She has strong strategic planning, leadership development and general management business skills, as well as a proven record of managing teams with national responsibilities that deliver business results in challenging business environments.

Alex is Founder and President of AGG Consulting, Inc. where she provides strategic marketing, leadership development and business development consulting services to health care insurance companies, educational institutions, non-profits and public sector entities.

As an example of the work Ms. Garza has done are the services she provided to a public university’s alumni foundation, which needed marketing and communications strategic plans to increase alumni and student engagement. Alex created strategic plans with input from the institution’s alumni, students, faculty and administrators. The approach included capturing the voice of key stakeholders through digital surveys, individual interviews and focus groups. The final results led to the foundations development of a detailed strategic plan that increased stakeholder engagement by thirty percent and increased fundraising efforts by ten percent.

Previously, Alex led national marketing and business development teams at both Aetna and United Healthcare where she was responsible for marketing and business development to public sector clients such as the federal government, states, municipalities, school districts and labor and trust organizations.

During her time at a national healthcare insurance company, Alex was responsible for developing and implementing growth and operational strategies addressing the shifting demographics within the African-American and Latino communities. Targeting business leaders, community-based organizations and consumers within these two growing communities, strategies included the following special initiatives:

  • Conduct internal audit and gap analysis to determine equitable service levels for multicultural and multilingual consumers.
  • Support the development and implementation of sales and account management growth targets within multicultural small business communities. Included were the development and implementation of cultural competency assessment tools and training initiatives for the organization’s national sales and account management teams.
  • Assess procurement levels for minority businesses and establish purchasing goals with the organization’s P&L leaders.
